An incident occurred on Sunday at Miami International Airport when an Amazon cargo plane overshot a runway, causing a temporary halt in flights at the bustling travel hub. The mishap led to the release of black smoke from the disabled aircraft. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the plane exceeded the runway limits around 2 p.m. local time while arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
As a result of the overrun, all runways and taxiways were closed, and a ground stop was implemented, according to an airport representative. The Prime Air plane is presently immobile at the northwest section of the airport. Social media images show the aircraft resting near a roadway, with two semi-trucks parked in the vicinity.
