“Aldi Announces Expansion with 16 New Stores and Revamped Locations”

Aldi plans to launch 16 new stores in the upcoming months, with confirmed locations including Watford, Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, and Balsall Common in the West Midlands. The popular budget supermarket currently operates over 1,080 stores nationwide and aims to reach 1,500 branches in the long run. This expansion is part of Aldi’s substantial £370 million investment in new stores throughout 2026.

Jonathan Neale, Aldi UK’s Managing Director of National Real Estate, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing high-quality, affordable food accessible to all. The investment in new stores is intended to extend Aldi’s value proposition to more communities, thereby contributing to local economies and offering competitive pay to employees.

In addition to these store openings, Aldi recently announced plans to revamp 25 stores across the UK this summer. The upgrades will include enhanced shopping space, sustainable features like energy-efficient fridge doors, and improvements to bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food sections at select locations. These enhancements aim to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers and staff while aligning with Aldi’s sustainability goals.

Moreover, Aldi has introduced significant price reductions on over 200 products, spanning fresh and frozen foods, household staples, and personal care items. The supermarket has invested over £200 million in price cuts this year, with an additional £60 million in reductions implemented recently. Despite these reductions, customers are advised to compare prices across different retailers to ensure they are getting the best deals available.
