Prison authorities are actively working to ensure that the two individuals responsible for the abuse of young Preston Davey are kept separated for the duration of their sentences, as reported by sources within the correctional facility.
John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, is anticipated to be housed at HMP Manchester, famously known as Strangeways, a facility that has housed infamous criminals such as Harold Shipman, Dale Cregan, Ian Brady, and Charles Bronson. McGowan-Fazakerley was sentenced to 25 years for charges including allowing a child’s death, child cruelty, and sexual abuse, while his partner Jamie Varley, 37, received a whole life order for murder, child cruelty, sexual offenses, and indecent images related to Preston’s case.
Upon his arrival at ‘Monster Mansion,’ Varley reportedly faced a hostile reception from other inmates, with threats of retribution for his actions towards Preston. Varley was subsequently transferred to HMP Wakefield, where similar animosity awaited him, as other prisoners sought to make his time behind bars as difficult as possible.
Insiders have revealed that McGowan-Fazakerley is in the process of being moved to another high-security prison, with concerns raised about his safety due to a “bounty on his head.” Both individuals are expected to be closely monitored and kept in segregation to prevent any potential harm from other inmates.
HMP Strangeways, with a capacity for up to 744 adult male prisoners, is renowned for its challenging environment. Recent inspections have raised serious concerns about the prevalence of drug use, violence, and self-harm within the facility, indicating a difficult and dangerous setting for inmates.
Overall, the situation for both McGowan-Fazakerley and Varley remains tense and precarious as they navigate their respective sentences in the harsh reality of the prison system.
