“PM Mark Carney Joins Forever Canadian Rallies in Alberta”

Prime Minister Mark Carney has confirmed his participation in two Forever Canadian rallies in Alberta this week leading up to the Oct. 19 referendum. Carney’s itinerary includes appearances in Calgary on Thursday and Edmonton on Friday.

The upcoming referendum in Alberta will feature 10 questions covering immigration, constitutional matters, and a crucial decision on the province’s status within Canada. Thomas Lukaszuk, the initiator of the Forever Canadian campaign, reached out to Carney via social media, expressing optimism about his involvement. Lukaszuk emphasized the importance of Albertans hearing Carney’s perspective, believing it will bolster the movement.

Lukaszuk commended Carney’s commitment to engaging with Alberta’s concerns and promoting collaboration and negotiation for effective federalism. He stressed that separatism is not a viable solution to the issues raised by Albertans.

Carney’s recent address to Albertans, delivered from his former school in west Edmonton, highlighted the challenges facing Canada’s economy but underscored the nation’s resilience and growth trajectory, urging unity and perseverance. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is slated to present his message on Canadian unity in a separate event in Calgary on Friday, where Alberta Premier Danielle Smith will also address the audience.
