Canada ended the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series with a resounding victory, defeating Japan 20-10 in the final to clinch the Takasaki championship and secure their second title of the season following their success in Shanghai. The top-ranked Canadian team showcased dominance throughout the tournament, sweeping through Pool A and recording convincing wins against China (21-9) in the quarterfinals and Neftchi SOCAR (22-12) in the semifinals. Paige Crozon was instrumental in the victory over China, contributing 11 points and eight rebounds, while Merissah Russell added eight points in the semifinal match.
In the championship clash, Canada asserted control early on and maintained their lead, despite a late surge from Japan. The Canadians ultimately triumphed with a 20-10 scoreline, claiming the Takasaki title. Russell’s outstanding performance earned her the Takasaki MVP title, leading the tournament in player value (45.3) and drives (12), and ranking second in total points scored (32) and highlights (17).
While Canada’s success marked a strong conclusion to their Women’s Series campaign, they will not progress to the Project Redwings Shanghai Final in September.
