Atlanta Hawks’ Nickeil Alexander-Walker is set to represent Canada in the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Canada Basketball’s general manager, Rowan Barrett, announced the 15-man roster for the Americas qualifiers, including Alexander-Walker and his teammate Luguentz Dort.
The roster also features Trae Bell-Haynes, Khem Birch, Marcus Carr, Mfiondu Kabengele, Kaza Kajami-Keane, Koby McEwen, David Muenkat, Nick Ongenda, Kelly Olynyk, Jackson Rowe, Thomas Scrubb, Keevan Veinot, and Kyle Wiltjer. Toronto Raptors’ RJ Barrett and Los Angeles Clippers’ Bennedict Mathurin will support the team as ambassadors without playing.
Canada’s team will face Panama in Panama City before hosting Argentina in Quebec City. With a perfect 6-0 record in Group F, Canada is leading the standings after defeating Jamaica and Puerto Rico in Hamilton during June.
