Miyu Yamashita Dominates CPKC Women’s Open

Japan’s Miyu Yamashita secured a commanding victory at the CPKC Women’s Open held at Edmonton’s Royal Mayfair Club. The 25-year-old golfer clinched her fourth LPGA Tour win and second for the year by finishing 23 under par after shooting a remarkable 4-under 66 in the final round of the $2.75 million US tournament.

Yamashita’s stellar performance saw her leading by six strokes after three rounds, ultimately triumphing by a substantial nine-stroke margin over her compatriot, Yuri Yoshida, who finished at 14 under par. Vancouver’s Anna Huang delivered an impressive 5-under 65 to tie for fourth place at 12 under par, emerging as the top Canadian player. Calgary amateur Aphrodite Deng closed with a solid 69 to end the tournament at 11 under par.

Meanwhile, two-time champion Brooke Henderson from Smiths Falls, Ont., finished at 7 under par after carding an even par 70 in the final round. The upcoming LPGA event, the FM Championship, will kick off at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., this Thursday.
