Prince William shared that his son, Prince George, who recently turned 13 and is about to attend Eton College, is just like any other teenager and often feels embarrassed by his parents. The royal family, including Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, enjoyed a day out at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where they watched a netball semi-final match and visited the Team Wales base. During the visit, Prince Louis updated the medal count board, much to the delight of the audience.
At the event, Team Wales asked the royal children if they would like to see their parents ride a tandem in the velodrome, to which Prince George humorously declined, stating that they already embarrass him enough. The family also interacted with other Commonwealth Games participants, including twins Abigail and Emily Roper, who won bronze medals in gymnastics.
Kate Middleton, along with her children, engaged in conversations with various guests, including Sir Chris Hoy, a six-time Olympic champion cyclist who has been battling terminal cancer. Sir Chris shared his positive outlook on exercise and its impact on his cancer treatment, emphasizing its benefits in improving medication efficacy and time to relapse.
The royal family also visited the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where they met the cycling champion and witnessed some cycling action. As they headed home, Sir Chris was seen accompanying the family to their car, while Kate conversed with Olympic champion cyclists about their cancer diagnoses and treatments.
Both Sir Chris Hoy and Kate Middleton have faced cancer battles, with Sir Chris disclosing his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2023 and Kate undergoing chemotherapy for an undisclosed cancer type in 2024, later achieving remission in 2025. Sir Chris emphasized the importance of exercise in his cancer journey, highlighting its potential to change perceptions about Stage 4 cancer.
