During the subsequent inquest, it was revealed that a strain had developed in Tasmin’s relationship with her partner, Marcus Hughes, leading to their distressing demise. The court learned that Tasmin had separated amicably from Hudson’s father but faced challenges in her relationship with Mr. Hughes after discovering him on a dating site.
Mr. Hughes testified that their relationship had encountered difficulties, exacerbated by Tasmin’s health issues, financial concerns, and housing instability. Despite efforts to salvage their bond, it was evident that their partnership was unraveling.

Hudson’s father, Aaron Paterson, expressed profound grief over the loss of his son, describing Hudson as a beloved and vibrant young boy with a passion for cars and a heart full of love for his family and friends.
The coroner’s investigation confirmed that Mr. Hughes was not involved in the deaths. The coroner determined that Tasmin had taken her own life and was responsible for Hudson’s tragic demise, ruling her death as suicide and Hudson’s as an unlawful killing.
