“Former Cabinet Minister Ann Widdecombe’s Cause of Death Undetermined”

Ann Widdecombe’s exact cause of death remains undetermined, as revealed in a coroner’s court session today. The hearing disclosed that the former Cabinet Minister and Reform UK spokesperson was discovered deceased in her secluded bungalow on July 9 after concerns were raised about her well-being.

During the session at County Hall in Exeter, Senior Devon Coroner Philip Spinney relayed information from a coroner’s officer stating that Ms. Widdecombe was found unresponsive with visible injuries. Despite a postmortem examination, the specific medical reason behind her death is yet to be confirmed.

Mr. Spinney mentioned that Ms. Widdecombe, a resident of Widdecombe’s Rest in Haytor Vale, was pronounced dead at 12.20pm on July 9. He highlighted the ongoing thorough investigation by the police and the upcoming court appearance of a 28-year-old man charged with her murder at Westminster Magistrates Court.

Expressing condolences to Ms. Widdecombe’s family, Mr. Spinney emphasized the impact of her loss on those who mourn her, acknowledging her as a beloved individual greatly missed by many.

As the suspect, Joshua Kerry, from Rotherham, South Yorks, gears up for his court appearance, details emerged that he had been unemployed since his role as an office administrator two years ago. Kerry was arrested on suspicion of Ms. Widdecombe’s murder on July 11.

The tragic incident occurred on July 8, just before Ms. Widdecombe was scheduled to participate in a video call for Channel 5’s Matt Allwright show. Despite her last message to a producer at 12.19pm, she did not respond to a text at 12.48pm.
