A man faced court proceedings after Gardai reported that a vehicle had been driven towards several individuals. The incident occurred on Saturday night in Harbour Road, Skerries, north Dublin, resulting in injuries to four people, including three teenagers.
Sean McGlone, aged 29 and residing at Beechwood Drive, Drogheda, was brought before Balbriggan District Court today. Detective Garda Ultan McElroy mentioned that McGlone was apprehended at his residence on Sunday and subsequently charged with dangerous driving.
Law enforcement responded to a disturbance around 9.45 pm on Saturday, where a clash erupted among a large group of youths. During this event, a car reportedly targeted multiple individuals, according to the authorities.
Three teenagers, comprising two females and one male, were transported to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Another male was later identified as being injured in the incident.
Although Gardai did not oppose bail, they proposed certain restrictions. Following discussions with McGlone’s legal representative, barrister Pearse Collins, Ms. Justice Stephanie Coggins stipulated that McGlone must check in at Drogheda Garda Station three times weekly, refrain from visiting Balbriggan and Skerries, avoid contact with potential witnesses, and abstain from alcohol consumption.
Collins mentioned that McGlone worked as a van driver in Duleek, earning around 700 euros weekly and traveling nationwide for work. Notably, the M1 road was excluded from the bail conditions.
Dressed in a green t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms, the accused remained silent during the brief court session. He was granted bail upon posting a bond of €5,000 with a €1,000 cash deposit and is scheduled to appear before the court again on September 23.
