The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) responded to a report around 2.40 am regarding a crash involving two pedestrians. The driver, a 22-year-old male, fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities in the nearby Cavehill area.

Detective Inspector Stewart of the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit stated that they were alerted to a single-vehicle collision involving two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. The driver, identified as the 22-year-old male, fled initially but was subsequently arrested.

Following earlier road closures, the area has now reopened for traffic. The PSNI is appealing for any witnesses or individuals with dash-cam footage related to the crash to come forward by contacting the police.
