The Prince of Wales was seen enjoying a game of bowls with schoolchildren in the Welsh capital. Prince William, aged 44, participated in outdoor sports activities at The London Welsh School in Hanwell alongside pupils and athletes preparing for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, in another part of town, Prince William’s younger brother, the Duke of Sussex, faced a setback as he lost a £50 million privacy claim against the Daily Mail publisher. The 41-year-old Duke was discussing his Invictus Games at Chatham House in London when he received the news.
During his visit, Prince William interacted with students from Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain and some Commonwealth Games athletes, offering them words of encouragement for the upcoming competition. He expressed his excitement for a summer filled with sporting events and wished the team success in the games.
Engaging with the athletes, including para bowls athlete Julie Thomas, who shared her inspiring story of overcoming challenges, Prince William showcased genuine interest and warmth. He even mentioned that his children would be cheering for her during the Glasgow event.
As a token of appreciation, the school presented Prince William with plushie toy versions of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games mascot for his children. The Prince also engaged in netball with the students and exchanged pleasantries with the teachers at the bilingual Welsh-English primary school.
