Originally intended as a patriotic launch for the country’s historic milestone, the fair has turned into a series of embarrassments: vacant spaces, missing performers, malfunctioning rides, absent states, melting ice cream, and a President who insists everything is at full capacity despite evidence suggesting otherwise. Notably, even Uncle Sam was taken into custody.
Marketed as the “Top Attraction Worldwide,” the 16-day festivity on Washington’s National Mall has failed to live up to expectations, resembling more of a local fair that forgot to invite the locals.
A visitor to the fair, Kristen Hamilton, expressed disappointment, stating, “I anticipated a celebration of America’s birthday, but it felt more like a political rally for someone else.
