Three Irish individuals tragically lost their lives in a fatal collision involving a taxi and a car in southern Spain, and their identities have now been disclosed. The victims have been identified as Mark McCullagh, Michaela Newcombe, and Amy McCullagh, who was the wife of Mark’s brother Ian. The incident occurred near Malaga in the early hours of Sunday morning, as confirmed by Spanish authorities. The crash took place around 2.30am local time on the A7 motorway, resulting in a collision between two vehicles, one of which veered off an embankment.
Ian McCullagh, a fourth Irish national involved in the accident, survived but sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment in a Spanish hospital. All three deceased individuals hailed from Mullingar, Co Westmeath. Ian, aged 31, had tied the knot with Amy in southern Spain back in August 2024, as reported by the Irish Mirror.
Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in for Michaela Newcombe, who was employed as the head receptionist at Havan Sun Mullingar beauty school. Described by friends as a compassionate and vibrant individual who always had a kind word for everyone she encountered, she is being remembered fondly for her warmth and positivity.
