“Tesco Launches Youth Clubcard for 16-17 Year-Olds”

Tesco has introduced a special version of its Clubcard aimed at 16 and 17-year-olds, granting them access to a wide range of Clubcard Prices discounts and the ability to earn Clubcard points for future use. Typically reserved for individuals aged 18 and above, the new digital Clubcard for teenagers can only be accessed through the Tesco app or website.

To enroll in the program, teenagers must receive an invitation from a parent or guardian via their Clubcard account. The parent or guardian can send a sign-up link to their 16 or 17-year-old by navigating to their account settings and selecting the “Invite to Clubcard” option, which is visible in the latest version of the Tesco app. With over 24 million UK households already having a Tesco Clubcard, the company aims to broaden its reach to a younger audience.

Shama Wilson, Tesco’s Group Membership & Loyalty Director, expressed enthusiasm about offering younger customers the benefits of the Clubcard, anticipating its popularity among 16 and 17-year-olds. These new Clubcard members can take advantage of exclusive in-store discounts, including the renowned Tesco lunchtime meal deal, and accrue points that can be exchanged for vouchers to save on their shopping expenses.

Tesco shoppers can earn Clubcard points by spending in stores or purchasing fuel at Tesco forecourts, as well as through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile. The accumulation of points allows for the redemption of vouchers, with a minimal requirement of 150 points equating to a £1.50 voucher valid at Tesco. Additionally, by utilizing Clubcard vouchers with Rewards Partners like Pizza Express or Alton Towers, customers can maximize the value of their rewards.
