After being forced to leave his residence by the local authorities, Caesar, a 4-foot fibreglass gorilla, faced an uncertain future. However, he has now found a new home and gained widespread attention. Long-haul travel experts, Flight Centre, have welcomed Caesar and placed him prominently in their South Molton Street store in London.
Formerly situated in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Caesar was proudly showcased by his owner, Adele Teale, for a year. Teale, a gorilla enthusiast, had Caesar at her Leeds home for 15 years without any issues. Following a complaint to Wakefield Council earlier this year, Teale had to relocate Caesar due to lack of planning permission. Caesar’s journey to London included stops at iconic landmarks like Big Ben, Downing Street, and Piccadilly Circus.
General Manager of Flight Centre, Joe Beevis, expressed their delight in providing a new home for Caesar, emphasizing the importance of sustainable tourism through partnerships like Intrepid Travel. Caesar’s safe relocation was a priority for Flight Centre, who also treated him to a tour of London upon arrival.
Adele Teale shared her sentiments about Caesar’s move, acknowledging that while he has been a part of her life for over two decades, she is pleased with his new arrangement in London. Teale handed Caesar over personally and trusts Flight Centre to care for him as she does.
Caesar’s enthusiasts can visit him at Flight Centre’s South Molton Street store in Mayfair. To celebrate Caesar’s arrival, Flight Centre is offering a 10% discount on selected Africa Tours with Intrepid Travel for a limited time. Visit Flight Centre’s website for more details on this exclusive offer.
