“Man causes panic at Salford school, prompts lockdown”

A man allegedly entered a primary school in Salford, damaging a window with a brick and causing alarm to school staff and pupils, prompting a lockdown at St Marks R C Primary School on Queensway in the Clifton area. Police responded quickly, surrounding the school with multiple vehicles as children were seen leaving the premises.

In response to the incident, a crime scene investigation van was deployed at the school. Concerned parents rushed to the scene upon being notified around 10:30 am. The Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the man involved, possibly experiencing a medical episode, was taken to the hospital.

The police statement indicated that emergency services were alerted to a welfare concern at 10 am on Queensway in Swinton. The man’s actions led to the decision to close the school for the day and send children home. Fortunately, no harm was inflicted on any school staff or pupils during the incident.
