“Trump Sanctions Strike on Tren de Aragua Leader”

The leader of the Tren de Aragua gang in Venezuela was reportedly killed in a decisive military operation sanctioned by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump announced on Truth Social that the U.S. Southern Command had carried out a successful strike targeting Nino Guerrero, the notorious head of Tren De Aragua, described as a highly violent terrorist group.

According to Trump, the operation aimed to eliminate the terrorist threat posed by Tren de Aragua and ensure they have no refuge in Venezuela or elsewhere. He vowed to pursue and bring to justice such criminals under his administration’s leadership, emphasizing a relentless approach to eradicate them.

Trump shared a video showing an explosion at a Tren de Aragua compound, indicating the impact of the strike. While the exact timing of the operation was not disclosed by Trump, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that it occurred earlier in the week in Venezuela.

Venezuelan officials have not yet responded to the military action.

In another development, the U.S. Central Command reported intercepting multiple Iranian drones attempting to target commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. This interception occurred amid ongoing peace negotiations between Iran and the U.S., with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressing optimism about reaching a peace agreement to end the conflict.

Araqchi highlighted that Iran had gained strength from the conflict, asserting Iran’s perceived victory over the U.S. in the war.
