Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf recently made strong statements about potentially challenging Britain’s constitution to implement a plan similar to Donald Trump’s “deportation force.” As the party’s spokesperson for home affairs, Yusuf delivered a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC on “Saving Britain and Saving the West,” where he also engaged with MAGA politicians in Congress.
One of Yusuf’s key proposals involves deporting a large number of individuals who are currently residing legally in the UK. This initiative would be enforced by a specialized “deportation force” modeled after the rigorous immigration teams deployed by Trump in American cities.
Yusuf emphasized that Reform’s deportation squads would receive thorough training and maintain a high level of professionalism. He expressed readiness to take drastic actions, including the potential abolition of the House of Lords, should any obstacles arise from peers while pushing forward with the stringent deportation strategy.
During an event, Yusuf stated, “If the House of Lords obstructs our path, we will dismiss them. Hopefully, it will not come to that.” When questioned about the possibility of sparking a “civil war” in Britain, Yusuf dismissed the notion.
Anticipating resistance, Yusuf acknowledged the likelihood of protests and disruptions within the Civil Service but asserted that their agenda would not be derailed by activists and their media allies. Furthermore, he raised concerns about alleged foreign funding fueling opposition to Reform’s conservative policies, speculating on a foreign interference campaign during the Makerfield by-election without presenting concrete evidence.
Drawing parallels to Trump’s claims, Yusuf questioned the origins of financial support behind anti-Reform demonstrations, echoing similar sentiments raised by the former US president regarding anti-ICE protests in Minnesota.
