Expect a humid atmosphere under widespread cloud cover, with conditions drying up by the evening.”
Meteorologist Claire Nasir from the Met Office explained that a rain band originating from the Atlantic has moved eastward overnight, with increasing winds expected in the western and southern regions, accompanied by heavier rainfall in certain areas.
Friday will bring cloudy skies, occasional rain showers, and a brisk breeze across the UK before warmer weather approaches from the southwest over the weekend.
Although some showers may persist in the north on Saturday, the Met Office predicts mostly dry and sunny weather with increasing warmth over the weekend and into Monday.
Brighter conditions are expected to move in from the west, bringing warmer and drier conditions to England and Wales on Saturday. Showers will linger in Scotland and northern England on Saturday, followed by a drier Sunday across the UK.
Temperatures could reach up to 26°C in the southeast on Sunday afternoon, with high levels of grass pollen expected over the weekend.
