Police in Muscatine, Iowa, are currently investigating a tragic incident involving the fatal shooting of six individuals. The authorities suspect that a relative carried out the shootings before taking his own life.
The incident unfolded when officers responded to a property southeast of Cedar Rapids, where four individuals were found dead from gunshot wounds, as reported by Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies during a press briefing.
The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland from Muscatine, was later located by law enforcement on a city trail. When approached by the police, McFarland turned the gun on himself, leading to his own death, confirmed Chief Kies.
Further investigations revealed that two additional men, believed to be related to McFarland, were also found dead from gunshot wounds at different locations in the city. One man was discovered at his residence, while the other was found deceased inside a business establishment, Chief Kies informed.
