One fortunate individual stands a chance to win the £3.8 million jackpot in the current Lotto draw happening tonight.
The winning Lotto numbers consist of 4, 17, 18, 20, 23, 56, with the bonus ball being 33. To claim the jackpot, a player needs to match all six primary numbers, with odds of approximately one in 45,057,474.
For the Thunderball, the winning numbers are 5, 20, 24, 28, 39, with the Thunderball number being 2. To secure the top prize of £500,000, a player must match all five numbers along with the Thunderball. The likelihood of winning the top prize is about one in 8,060,598, and participants have a one in 13 chance of winning any prize in each Thunderball draw.
In the recent Thunderball draw, no one managed to clinch the top prize. However, two players each won £5,000 after matching five numbers without the Thunderball.
Additionally, twenty-three players secured £250 each by matching four numbers plus the Thunderball, while 407 players won £100 each by matching four numbers without the Thunderball. Numerous other players received smaller prizes.
Despite no one winning tonight’s £3.8 million Lotto jackpot or the £1 million second-tier prize, 80 players each won £1,750 after matching five out of six numbers without the bonus ball. Furthermore, 4896 players matched four numbers, earning £140 each, with many others winning smaller prizes.
In a heartwarming story, a grandmother won £1 million in a Lotto draw back in April by playing numbers selected by her late husband years ago. Retired office manager Rose Tresadern, 80, from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, expressed that it felt like her late husband Derek Tresadern was still watching over them.
Derek Tresadern, a former business analyst, passed away at 83 following a brief illness last year, shortly after the couple marked their diamond wedding anniversary. Rose, along with her children Barry Tresadern, 52, and Julie Tresadern, 57, decided to continue playing Derek’s Lotto numbers weekly in their family group. In the April 18 draw, they managed to match five of the six main numbers and the bonus ball.
Mrs. Tresadern intends to use a portion of her share of the £1 million prize to relocate to a retirement facility better suited to her mobility requirements, as well as to purchase a new ring as a memento of her late husband.
The Lotto draw will occur at 8 pm tonight, with an estimated jackpot of £3.8 million. To win the jackpot, a player must match all six main numbers, with odds of around one in 45,057,474.
Meanwhile, the Thunderball draw is set for 8:15 pm, offering a top prize of £500,000. The odds of winning the Thunderball top prize are approximately one in 8,060,598. Various smaller prizes, ranging from £3 to £5,000, are also available. Participants have a one in 13 chance of winning any prize in each Thunderball draw.
The Lotto and Thunderball draws tonight will be live-streamed on the National Lottery website and its official YouTube channel, and the results will be shared once they are announced.
