The FBI has announced a reward of $1 million US for details leading to the capture of a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, allegedly involved in planning the assassination of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C., back in June 2023. The individual in question, Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, has been included in the FBI’s top 10 most wanted fugitives list.
Described as extremely violent and a threat to public safety, Goldy Brar’s addition to the wanted list was confirmed by Patrick Grandy, the FBI’s assistant director of the Los Angeles Field Office, in a press briefing on Monday. Brar was formally charged by U.S. prosecutors in July as part of a wide-ranging investigation into racketeering, extortion, and murder involving three crime syndicates with links to India. The charges relate to the killing of Nijjar, a prominent Sikh leader shot dead by masked attackers at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara three years ago.
Despite gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi being incarcerated since 2015, Brar has reportedly taken on a leadership role within the gang, operating both in North America and Canada while evading capture. RCMP Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland highlighted the destructive impact of Brar’s network, citing numerous incidents of violence, threats, extortion, and drug trafficking.
Considered armed and dangerous, Goldy Brar is believed to be residing in California and various regions of Canada, as per FBI reports. Canada officially designated the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization in 2025 due to its alleged activities targeting and intimidating diaspora communities.
