Woman Diagnosed with Terminal Brain Cancer Fights Courageously

A woman called her partner to share she was feeling unwell, only to later learn she had a limited time left due to a serious illness. Michelle Shoveller, a 42-year-old carer from Kent, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumor, after initially experiencing vertigo as her only symptom.

Her partner, Lee Cuzner, became concerned when Michelle called him from work feeling unwell. Upon rushing to her side, he found her in distress, ultimately needing emergency medical assistance. Michelle was quickly taken to the hospital where scans revealed the presence of a brain tumor. Further tests confirmed it was glioblastoma, the most severe form of brain cancer at stage four.

Despite undergoing a lengthy surgery to remove most of the tumor, it regrew rapidly, leading to the heartbreaking news that Michelle’s condition was terminal. Determined to create lasting memories, the family went on a trip to Disneyland Paris before Michelle required additional medical intervention for fluid buildup in her brain.

Now under palliative care, Michelle is facing the challenges of her illness with courage. She has lost sensation and movement on one side of her body and is undergoing experimental treatment. To support her medical expenses and ensure her remaining time is comfortable, the family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign.

Lee, Michelle’s partner of 28 years, remains steadfast in providing care and support. Despite the difficult circumstances, they continue to seek moments of joy and normalcy, cherishing the time they have together. The family’s resilience and love for each other shine through as they navigate this difficult journey.
