Paramedics and firefighters swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a child falling from a fourth-floor apartment on Sunday evening. Despite their efforts to revive the child, tragically, the 10-year-old passed away at the scene in Lorient, Brittany, France.
The gender of the child remains unknown at this time. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in the upcoming days.
There is no indication of any third-party involvement in this unfortunate event, which took place in a lower-income area, specifically 4 Rue Gabriel-Fauré, in Bois du Château, a neighborhood in the western part of the French city.
Public prosecutor Laëtitia Mirande stated that an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death has been launched. Initial findings do not point to the participation of any external party. The child’s family will be directed to France Victimes for support.
