Film enthusiasts and celebrities are converging in Canada’s largest city for the Toronto International Film Festival. The 51st installment of TIFF, spanning 11 days from Thursday, showcases close to 300 films and features renowned actors such as Javier Bardem, Cynthia Erivo, and Seth Rogen, among others.

On Day 2, September 11, notable personalities like K-pop sensation Lisa, Rick Hansen, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jay Baruchel are anticipated to grace the red carpet. Actor James McAvoy is captured signing autographs before the debut of his supernatural drama “Faith” at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Co-star Smylie Bradwell, portraying the son of a single mother in “Faith,” attends the premiere alongside James McAvoy. Director Adrian Buitenhuis arrives at Roy Thomson Hall to promote the film “Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story,” which highlights the inspirational journey of Rick Hansen.
The festival’s kickoff on Day 1, September 10, witnessed workers rolling out the red carpet for the opening film “Being Heumann” by acclaimed director Siân Heder. Additionally, Canadian premieres for “Fjord,” “The Housewife,” and “Stuffed” took place, drawing attention from furry friends and visitors posing for photos in front of the iconic TIFF sign on King Street W.
At Roy Thomson Hall, the cast and crew of “Being Heumann” gathered on the red carpet for their premiere, with actor Rio Finnegan in attendance. The event also saw the presence of TIFF 2026 Tribute Award honoree, actor Fan Bingbing, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, and actor Jodie Comer from “Killing Eve” at the premiere of “Stuffed.”
The night continued at the Royal Alexandra Theatre with actor Naomi Watts captivating fans at the red carpet for her film “The Housewife,” directed by Canadian filmmaker Ben Shirinian. The historical drama, featuring Watts and Luke Evans as a couple, unfolds a true story that resonates with audiences.
