A golfer from Saskatchewan achieved his first hole-in-one while competing in the National Special Olympics, securing a victory. Taylor Carter, a resident of Regina, has been a golfer since the age of four and joined the Special Olympics team in 2013. The memorable moment occurred at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club on a Friday and has left a lasting impression on Carter.
Carter expressed his disbelief and emotion about the achievement, mentioning that every time he watches the video, it brings tears to his eyes. Serving as Taylor’s caddy during the event was his nephew Ashton Carter. The pivotal moment happened on the 16th hole, measuring 135 yards, where Taylor successfully used a nine-iron to make the shot.
Ashton described witnessing the shot and immediately realizing its excellence. Taylor’s brother was the first to declare the hole-in-one, leading to a jubilant reaction from the family. The excitement was captured on video by Taylor’s sister-in-law, Kyra-Lee Carter.
