In a message shared on her Instagram account, Bettina Trump mentioned Umar Kremlev, describing him as a “dear friend” who generously hosted two lavish nights of festivities post their wedding. The couple expressed gratitude for the generous gesture, emphasizing it as a heartfelt wedding gift.
Reports from ProPublica revealed that Umar Kremlev, a Russian oligarch heading the International Boxing Association, substantially financed the wedding events in the Bahamas, covering expenses amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars. This included renting out a private island for the three-day celebration and organizing a spectacular fireworks display.
Bettina Trump clarified that their wedding ceremony was a private affair exclusively attended by family members. The subsequent weekend, initially planned as a casual gathering with friends, unexpectedly turned into their wedding celebration due to unforeseen circumstances. She emphasized the personal nature of the event and lamented how it had been politicized or misconstrued based on their identities or backgrounds, asserting that genuine friendships transcend political motives and acts of generosity can be free from hidden agendas.
Umar Kremlev’s recent accolade, receiving the Order of Friendship from Putin, coincides with ongoing tensions stemming from Russia’s conflict with Ukraine and the unfulfilled promises of peace negotiations. Kremlev’s association with Putin was also highlighted during their joint visit to China as part of a Russian delegation.
