Mike, who is married to Prince William’s cousin Zara Tindall, revealed that Kate enjoys participating in the party game beer pong, although the royal gatherings typically feature ‘prosecco pong’ instead of beer.
As the son-in-law of Princess Anne, Mike shared his experiences of playing beer pong with Kate, a game where players aim ping pong balls into cups filled with alcohol. He mentioned that royal events can sometimes become lively and energetic.
In an interview with Woman & Home magazine, Mike highlighted the strong athletic culture within the Royal family, emphasizing their shared love for sports. He mentioned witnessing Kate’s competitive nature while playing beer pong, which led to the royal group opting for prosecco pong instead.
This is not the first time Mike has mentioned Kate’s enthusiasm for beer pong. In a podcast episode in 2023 featuring Prince William, Kate, and Princess Anne, he humorously recalled Kate’s competitiveness in the game.
Additionally, during a discussion at the Hay Festival, there were comical references to Mike’s connection to the royal family. Mike, a former England rugby player, achieved significant success in the sport, including winning the 2003 Rugby World Cup and multiple Six Nations championships.
Mike and Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, met during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia and tied the knot in 2011. They currently reside at Aston Farm on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire with their three children, living in a renovated farmhouse near Anne’s primary residence.
