“Rams’ Left Tackle Alaric Jackson Suspended for 2 Games”

The Los Angeles Rams have taken disciplinary action against Alaric Jackson, their starting left tackle, suspending him for two games without pay. This decision follows an incident where Jackson struck Buffalo linebacker Bradley Chubb in the face after their teams’ recent overtime matchup on Monday night.

The NFL made the announcement on Tuesday, indicating that Jackson, hailing from Windsor, Ont., will be absent from the Rams’ upcoming games against Arizona and Las Vegas, pending any potential appeals. The league labeled Jackson’s actions as “an act of unsportsmanlike conduct.”

The altercation occurred after the game when Jackson and Chubb had a verbal exchange during a jersey swap with another Bills player. Jackson approached Chubb and delivered a blow that caused Chubb’s hat to come off. Teammates intervened to separate the two players.

This suspension is not the first time Jackson has faced off-field issues. In June, he was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, and in 2025, he was sued for allegedly recording sexual acts without consent. These incidents have raised concerns about potential league discipline from the NFL.

As a key player for the Rams, Jackson’s absence poses a challenge for the team, especially since they lack a reliable backup left tackle. While David Quessenberry is listed as the backup, his limited playing time in recent years raises questions about the team’s contingency plan. In the past, the Rams turned to DJ Humphries when Jackson was unavailable, as rookie Keagen Trost remains on injured reserve with a hamstring issue.

Despite his off-field troubles, Jackson, a Canadian-American dual citizen, has been a significant contributor to the Rams, having won a Super Bowl ring in 2022. His role as the starting left tackle and his recent contract extension reflect his importance to the team’s offensive line.
