“Queen Camilla Makes Surprise Visit to Wimbledon”

Queen Camilla paid an unexpected visit to Wimbledon today, engaging with a former tennis champion before heading to the royal box. Accompanied by her sister Annabel Elliot, she entered the players’ area to meet with Wimbledon staff, players, and local workers.

During her visit, Camilla conversed with former British number one Heather Watson, who described the Queen as “super down-to-earth” and expressed her delight at meeting her. Watson shared that she felt nervous and sweaty before their interaction but was pleased to discuss Wimbledon and her career with the Queen.

Camilla’s sister also had a chat with Watson, reminiscing about attending Wimbledon since their youth. Watson recalled meeting the previous Queen over a decade ago in a similar setting.

Additionally, Camilla interacted with ball boy Zebedee from Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School and ball girl Aniya from The Tiffin’s Girl School in Kingston-upon-Thames. Both youngsters described the experience as special and unforgettable, with Camilla inquiring about their roles as ball girls and boys and the courts they had worked on.

Besides Camilla, other members of the royal family were present at Wimbledon, including newlyweds Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, accompanied by Zara Tindall and husband Mike. Their attendance at the tournament coincided with Princess Kate’s appearance in a special episode of ‘Overheard at Wimbledon’ on the tournament’s Instagram account, where she watched a match last week alongside British tennis player Arthur Fery and other notable figures.

The royals enjoyed a day at Wimbledon, engaging with players, staff, and spectators, highlighting the royal family’s continued support for the prestigious tennis championship.
