“Putin Warns West: Will Use Nuclear Arms to Defend Kaliningrad”

Russian President Vladimir Putin cautioned the West against escalating tensions over Ukraine by mentioning the defense of Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave. He stated that Russia, while not intending to attack any European nation, would utilize all available weapons, including nuclear ones, to protect Kaliningrad if it faced a direct threat.

Addressing the Valdai Forum in Moscow, Putin emphasized the inevitability of deploying all Russian weapons if a direct attack targeted Kaliningrad or other territories. He acknowledged the challenges posed by NATO, a larger adversary, and underscored Russia’s competitive advantage in terms of weaponry.

The recent diplomatic note from Russia to NATO expressed readiness to resort to nuclear weapons if NATO attempted to isolate Russia’s Baltic exclave. This warning highlighted Russia’s concerns about NATO’s perceived threat to Kaliningrad. NATO responded by reiterating its defensive nature and discouraging nuclear threats.

Tensions between Russia and the West have escalated, with European governments accusing Moscow of engaging in hybrid warfare on the continent. Putin cautioned against the dangers of escalating conflicts, warning that arrogance and overconfidence could lead to catastrophic consequences. Despite ongoing military actions in Ukraine, Putin ruled out immediate attacks on European arms factories supplying Ukraine.

Putin also mentioned his willingness to participate in a trilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump under the right conditions. He confirmed Russia’s response to Ukrainian strikes and expressed concerns about potential future threats from Western assistance to Ukraine.
