“Over 100 Guests Evacuated After Fire Engulfs Malaga Hotel”

More than 100 guests were evacuated following a fire that engulfed a hotel in Malaga. The blaze at the Ibis Hotel on Cerrojo Street started around 1.25 am on Monday, with smoke visible for miles. Witnesses observed flames in the hotel’s basement. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters have been tirelessly working to contain the fire, which initially impacted the first floor before spreading throughout the building. Flames could be seen emanating from hotel room windows as the fire progressed.

Residents in Malaga noticed a significant plume of smoke rising from the hotel, as reported by El Español. The Malaga City Council announced on social media that two additional fire crews, each with a fire engine, arrived on the scene to support the existing four teams. Currently, six fire crews are on site, utilizing two aerial ladder trucks, four fire engines, and three water tankers to combat the blaze.

The Andalusian Health Service confirmed that no individuals have required medical treatment thus far. Emergency services successfully evacuated over 100 guests, as reported by El Español.
