The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees emerged victorious in the recent Panda Game, triumphing over the Carleton Ravens with a score of 35-32. Nearly 24,000 spectators, with the event drawing a substantial crowd, witnessed the annual football clash between the two universities in Ottawa.
To ensure the safety of attendees, revelers, and residents, Ottawa’s police and bylaw services collaborated with community and university partners in a comprehensive security initiative. A heightened police presence was noted in Sandy Hill and Lansdowne Park leading up to and during the game, with plans for continued vigilance throughout the day.
Law enforcement emphasized their focus on addressing Criminal Code violations, infractions under the Liquor Licence and Control Act, and other behavioral concerns, underscoring public safety as their top priority. Bylaw officials have been tasked with monitoring activities such as loitering, public intoxication, and obstruction of sidewalks.
