Bryan Seaver, who is Dolly Parton’s nephew and has served as her head of security for a long time, is currently involved in a very public legal dispute with the company responsible for managing her estate. The core issue of the conflict seems to revolve around financial matters.
Dolly Parton, whose net worth was estimated at $450 million US by Forbes, passed away on August 25 due to cancer. Despite not having children, she had a sizable family, including 11 siblings, at least 12 nephews and nieces, and several great-nephews and -nieces, as per People magazine.
The entity overseeing Parton’s estate is named She’s Alive, LLC, and it is overseen by her longtime manager, Danny Nozell. Recently, the estate took legal action against Seaver, the family member chosen by Parton to announce her passing.
Seaver was terminated from his security role at Dolly Parton’s properties, including Dollywood, and was instructed to vacate the premises immediately. She’s Alive, LLC, created shortly after Parton’s passing, filed a lawsuit and obtained a temporary restraining order against Seaver.
Allegations have emerged, with court documents revealing that Seaver allegedly portrayed himself as an international arms dealer and used his military background to intimidate Nozell for monetary gain. Seaver has refuted these claims, stating that the interactions were emotional discussions during a time of grief.
The legal battle continues, with a Tennessee judge ruling that Seaver and his company pose a current and ongoing disruption and threat to She’s Alive. Parton’s sister, Freida, has clarified on Facebook that there is no internal discord within the family regarding Dolly’s estate.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Seaver has requested a postponement of an upcoming hearing due to struggles in securing legal representation. She’s Alive has opposed this request, citing instances where Seaver allegedly attempted to evade legal service and obstruct the legal process.
The next hearing for Seaver is scheduled for October 20, with uncertainties remaining about his legal representation in the ongoing dispute over Dolly Parton’s estate.
