“Homebuyer’s Rash Unveils Shocking Cancer Diagnosis”

A woman who was buying her first home and starting a new job thought the rash on her chest was due to stress, but it turned out to be cancer. Faith Hinitt, 27, noticed an itchy, red rash on her chest when she became a homeowner in June 2023. She attributed the rash, extreme fatigue, night sweats, and hip pain to the stress of moving and changing contraception.

Despite these symptoms, Faith ignored them until a dentist suggested a blood test in October 2023 when she didn’t respond to gum infection treatment. Subsequently, after visiting A&E, Faith was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, a fast-progressing blood cancer.

Following chemotherapy, Faith is awaiting her second stem cell transplant for a chance at remission. She emphasizes the importance of seeking medical help if something seems wrong. Faith mentioned, “I was blaming my tiredness on buying a house and changing jobs. You don’t think these are all symptoms of blood cancer.” She credits her dentist for prompting her to seek medical attention, ultimately saving her life.

Faith has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, with another transplant scheduled soon. She remains optimistic about the treatment’s success and encourages others to listen to their bodies and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. Leukaemia, a type of blood cancer, progresses rapidly and requires immediate treatment, typically involving chemotherapy or a stem cell transplant.
