A significant blaze at a bar in Thailand’s Chatuchak District has resulted in numerous casualties. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the recovery of 27 bodies at the scene, identifying the bar as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a popular local spot.
Witnesses observed a group outside the bar moments before thick smoke and flames engulfed the building, prompting frantic escape attempts. The fire drew a swift response from emergency services, with firefighters from multiple stations using three hoses to bring the blaze under control within half an hour. Images captured the intense inferno and subsequent damage inside the bar.
Tragically, some individuals sought refuge in the bar’s toilets but were trapped and consumed by the fire. This incident echoes past tragedies in Thailand, such as the 2022 music bar fire that claimed 14 lives and the 2009 Santika nightclub blaze that left 66 dead and over 200 injured due to an indoor fireworks mishap.
