“Family seeks funds to bring mom with sepsis home”

A mother of five is currently hospitalized in Gran Canaria due to sepsis, and her family is eager to bring her back home to her children. Emily Casey, 34, fell ill during a family holiday in the Canary Islands, just three days after arriving on the island. Initially suspected to have a blood clot in her lung after recovering from pneumonia, a CT scan revealed a recurrence of pneumonia with fluid in her lung that needed draining.

After being placed in an induced coma on life support, Emily’s husband, Jamie Casey, rushed back to the hospital the next day to find his wife in critical condition. With the assistance of family members, he returned to the UK with their children after their holiday, only to come back to Gran Canaria to be by Emily’s side.

Upon his return, Jamie discovered that Emily had developed sepsis, complicating her condition. Despite being conscious, she remains in and out of sedation. The family is urgently seeking financial support to cover the expenses of a medical flight back to the UK, amounting to £50,000. A GoFundMe page has been set up to aid in raising the necessary funds to bring Emily back home to her children.

If you wish to contribute to this cause, you can make a donation through the GoFundMe page established in Emily’s name. The family hopes to reunite Emily with her five children – Summer, 13, Oscar, 11, Isabelle, seven, Sophia, four, and Willow, one.
