Two individuals successfully ascended to the summit of the iconic Empire State Building in New York City, where they proceeded to hoist a large banner, culminating in a marriage proposal.
The duo, comprising a man and a woman, donned masks as they navigated their way up the broadcast antenna atop the renowned structure earlier today. Reaching the pinnacle of the antenna, situated 443 meters (1,454 feet) above the bustling streets of New York, they unveiled a substantial banner.
Emblazoned on the banner was the message: “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace,” as per CBS news. Following their daring feat atop the radio and television transmission tower, they began their descent.
Upon descending to a lower platform, the man knelt down and romantically proposed to the woman. The pair shared an embrace, with the woman removing her mask for a heartfelt kiss. Subsequently, a police helicopter was dispatched to the location, prompting the duo to commence their descent around 12.35pm local time.
Initially, the observation deck beneath the mast and platform where the proposal took place was teeming with onlookers, but it was eventually cleared once the climbing incident was reported.
