“Canadian Woman Who Married ISIS Fighter Admits Terrorism Charges”

A woman from British Columbia who wed an ISIS fighter has admitted to terrorism-related offenses in a Vancouver court. The Public Prosecution Service of Canada verified that Kimberly Polman acknowledged guilt on Thursday for departing Canada to engage in activities with a terrorist organization, specifically ISIS. Polman spent multiple years in a Syrian detention camp before being repatriated to Canada in 2022. She faced health challenges, including hepatitis, and her sibling revealed that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and other issues prior to her return. Polman reportedly connected with an ISIS combatant online, married him, but later distanced herself from the group. The trial for Polman’s two accusations was scheduled to commence on November 9, with a sentencing date yet to be determined.
