Beauty retailer Bodycare is making a comeback to the UK high street by opening 17 new stores. Previously, the company had gone into administration, leading to the closure of all 147 stores. However, following its acquisition by an investment group led by former Body Shop and Molton Brown CEO Charles Denton, Bodycare is set to return, with plans to open 15 stores within a year.
The brand has unveiled the locations of the new stores on its website, which will feature content creator studios, demonstration zones, and live broadcast studios. These stores will mainly be located in the North and Midlands, including cities like Leicester, Northampton, Bradford, Leeds, and Wakefield. The first store to reopen will be the Sheffield branch at The Moor Shopping Centre, with an anticipated reopening later this month.
Although an exact reopening date has not been disclosed, a message on the store’s front indicates the imminent return. Bodycare has highlighted its digital-first strategy with innovative features like in-store demonstrations, feature screens, and creator spaces. The company has hinted at further store openings, emphasizing that they are just at the beginning of their comeback.
Established in 1970 by Graham and Margaret Blackledge, Bodycare offers products from popular beauty brands such as L’Oreal, Nivea, and Elizabeth Arden. The retailer’s revival signals a fresh start in the beauty industry, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience through its new store formats.
