Baan Lao Fine Thai Cuisine has emerged as the winner of the prestigious title of North America’s Best Restaurant at the World Culinary Awards, surpassing 22 Canadian contenders and 18 competitors from the United States.
This remarkable accomplishment marks the first time a Canadian restaurant has claimed the top spot in North America. Baan Lao also secured its position as the leading Canadian restaurant for the third consecutive year. The World Culinary Awards, established in 2020, determine the winners through a weighted voting system involving both the general public and registered members of the culinary industry.
Since its inception in 2021, Baan Lao has been delighting patrons with its “Royal Thai tasting menus featuring meticulously plated courses.” This recognition sets Baan Lao apart from the previous six winners of the North American award, all of which hailed from the United States.
