His first two heats saw him clocking times of 56.21 and 55.88, resulting in an overall time of 1:52.09 going into the second day. Weston continued his impressive form with a time of 55.63 in the third heat. This victory marked a remarkable turnaround for Weston, who had finished 15th in the previous Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, Wyatt improved his position to finish seventh with a total time of 3:45.77 in Italy.

Weston expressed his gratitude after winning, stating, “It means so much to me personally, as I have dedicated significant effort to achieve this. I am grateful to everyone who supported me, including my fiancée, family, and friends, for their sacrifices that led to this momentous achievement.”

The gold medal secured by Weston placed Team GB on the Winter Olympics medal table. German competitors Axel Jungk and Christopher Grotheer claimed the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
