“Senators Honor Late Goalie Ray Emery in Home Opener”

The Ottawa Senators are set to commence their season at their home arena tonight by honoring former goalie Ray Emery, who tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 35 after drowning in Lake Ontario. Emery, who hailed from Hamilton, was selected by the Senators in the 2001 draft and played five seasons with the team. He is most notably recognized for guiding the Senators to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance in the modern era back in 2007.

In remembrance of Emery, his family has been invited to initiate the new season at Canadian Tire Centre as Ottawa faces off against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Senators had a solid start to the season with two wins and one loss in their first three away games. To enhance the fan experience, the team has expanded its complimentary bus service for ticket holders during the regular season.

For the home opener tonight, buses will be departing from eight designated locations, including Liam Maguire’s on St. Laurent Blvd, Local Heroes on Clyde Ave, Thirsty Moose in Carleton Place, Glebe Central Pub on Bank St, Hometown Sports on Bank St, Le Pele Mele in Gatineau, Ollie’s Pub & Patio at Carleton University, and Father & Sons on Osgoode St.
