“Taylor Ruck Clinches Silver and Bronze at World Cup”

Canadian swimmer Taylor Ruck added to her collection of medals at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup by securing a silver in the 200-meter backstroke and a bronze in the 100-meter freestyle in Azerbaijan. Hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, the 26-year-old athlete made it to the podium for the fourth time in three days, previously winning silver in the 100-meter backstroke and bronze in the 50-meter freestyle at the Aquatic Palace in Baku.

In the 200-meter backstroke event, Ruck finished just a fraction of a second behind Anna Peplowski of the United States in the short-course backstroke race. Freya Constance Colbert from Britain claimed the third spot, trailing Peplowski and Ruck by over three seconds, while Ruck’s teammate Brooklyn Douthwright from Riverview, New Brunswick, secured the fourth position.

Ruck also clinched a bronze in the 100-meter freestyle, coming in about one and a half seconds behind the winner, Marrit Steenbergen of the Netherlands. Katarzyna Wasick from Poland took the second spot in this event.

On the men’s side, Blake Tierney from Saskatoon finished fourth in the 100-meter backstroke event.
