A Nova Scotia adolescent facing accusations of sexual assault with a weapon has admitted guilt to the offense. The incident, which occurred in October 2025, involves individuals from a youth hockey team in the Truro, N.S., region. Initially pleading not guilty, the youth changed their plea to guilty on Tuesday in Truro youth court. While four youths were initially arrested by the police, only two were formally charged. According to court documents, the two 15-year-old boys were charged with various offenses, including sexual assault with a weapon, described by the police as a mini hockey stick, for alleged assaults on three victims in Colchester County on October 3, 2025. The defendants were 14 at the time of the alleged incidents. The identities of both the accused individuals and the alleged victims are shielded from disclosure under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Another youth facing charges is scheduled to stand trial in February. Prosecutor Patrick Young emphasized the gravity of sexual violence and the commitment of law enforcement and the Public Prosecution Service to address such matters. Young encouraged victims to come forward, citing the bravery of the young complainants as an example for others contemplating reporting crimes to the police.
