Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed his death through social media on Sunday evening. The cause of his death has not been disclosed. Satterley was in action on television the night before his passing, engaging in a match against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Hailing from Newcastle, England, Satterley kickstarted his wrestling journey in 2004 in the UK. He made a name for himself in various independent wrestling circuits globally, showcasing a blend of acrobatic, high-flying maneuvers and a well-built physique that resonated with fans.
Transitioning to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 2012 to 2018 under the alias Adrian Neville, Satterley was pivotal in WWE’s NXT developmental program and the cruiserweight division. He later joined AEW in 2019, where he competed against and alongside some of the promotion’s top talents, securing multiple championship victories, including the inaugural international title.
Renowned for his finishing move, the black arrow, a spectacular top-rope dive, Satterley earned the moniker “The man that gravity forgot.” Throughout his career, he often portrayed a menacing character in the ring, also known as “The Bastard,” which he sometimes infused with comedic elements during matches.
A private individual outside the wrestling realm, Satterley maintained a low profile, rarely appearing out of character in public. Following his untimely demise, tributes poured in from fellow wrestlers and colleagues, highlighting his exceptional talent, humility, and dedication to the sport.
Satterley’s passing marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler within a month, following the tragic death of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher. Williams, a guitarist for Every Time I Die, collapsed during an independent wrestling event in Pittsburgh earlier in September.
Despite his limited social media presence, Satterley shared a photo online alongside Williams just days before his passing, showcasing a bond that extended beyond the wrestling ring.
