White House correspondent Akayla Gardner from MS NOW reported that she was denied entry and had her badge confiscated on Saturday morning. Despite successfully passing through two gates, she was informed that her badge was disabled when she reached the scanning point. An MS NOW producer managed to enter, but a photographer’s badge was also deactivated.
Trump justified his decision to ban the news outlets, citing what he referred to as unfavorable coverage and “fake news.” The President made the announcement on social media, labeling CNN, MS NOW, and Politico as purveyors of fake news.
