“Vancouver Rise Extends Top Scorer De Filippo to 2027”

The Vancouver Rise have secured their top scorer, Jessica De Filippo, by extending her contract until 2027. The Northern Super League team made the announcement on Friday, praising the 25-year-old Canadian’s performances as one of the league’s standout players.

Hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, De Filippo has been instrumental for Vancouver this season, notching 11 goals and four assists, putting her in a tie for the NSL scoring lead with Elyse Bennett of the Montreal Roses. Her stellar form in August, where she scored five goals and provided two assists, earned her the league’s player of the month award.

Joining the Rise before their debut season last year, De Filippo played a key role in helping the team clinch the inaugural NSL championship in November. The forward expressed her gratitude for the growth she has experienced both on and off the field since joining the club and looks forward to continuing her journey with them.

With a record of 8-10-2, the Rise are aiming to solidify their position in the league’s final playoff spot as they prepare to face the Montreal Roses (11-4-5) on Saturday.
